Hej,

Welcome to my site!

Why am I writing this blog? I see it as a way to share my thoughts, projects, and interests—a conversation starter, a way to connect with others online. But most importantly, selfishly , I do it for myself.

I’m Michael, a Polish immigrant who has been living in the UK since 2006—18 years at the time of writing this. Most of this time, I’ve been in Scotland, immersed in education. I dabbled in acting classes, digital design, and social sciences in college, but I ultimately graduated with a degree in Business Administration. I then moved on to complete a Master’s in Information Technology.

IT has always been my passion. I remember as a kid learning hexadecimal math to edit game files or bypassing my friend’s parents’ Windows password so we could play games after school.

I was an avid gamer—still am, I suppose.

These days, I don’t have as much time. Between work and life, there’s little room left for games. An overnight gaming session now feels like a waste of time. Unfortunately, we all grow into responsibilities, for ourselves and for others.

Beyond the screen, I love traveling. I’m a foodie, and I dabble in CrossFit—semi-regularly. I read and learn constantly, whether it’s machine learning, AI, or German classes. I love it.

Professionally, I’ve worked in marketing and IT. Now, I’m a software engineer. In my career, I’ve designed, innovated, run workshops, and created solutions. Being a software engineer allows me to do a variety of things and work with diverse people.

After all, software engineering isn’t just about writing code; it’s about solving business problems using technology. Before becoming an SE, I used to research the “best” languages, frameworks, and technologies. The truth is, there’s no single best tool. Some languages work better for certain cases, while others shine elsewhere. A tech stack is just that—a toolset. If you need to pick up a new tool to finish a project, so be it. Ultimately, software engineers are problem solvers, decoupled from the tech stack. Or at least, they should be.

So, I guess that’s it—a brief introduction. I’ll try to keep posting about tech, AI, and software in general, sharing my thoughts and perspectives. They might be biased, but they’ll be mine.

I hope this site keeps me accountable—to finish my side projects, summarise my research, and maybe even learn something about myself along the way.

Make sure to checkout my blog site, this is where the main content of this site will live. I will also add my portfolio and passion projects here.
